Since 1962
over 5,000 Peace Corps Volunteers have served in
Honduras. Honduras projects have spanned the range of
Peace Corps services including health, fisheries,
beekeeping, animal husbandry, education, small business
and agriculture. Hurricane Mitch devastated the country
in 1998 and in response the Peace Corps presence has
increased dramatically. Currently Honduras is the
second
largest Peace Corps site in the world with 190 Volunteers in six
projects. |
